Our Crush & Rush News WNBA Top 20 Players 2026 barely resembles the one ESPN trotted out there, but what can you expect from a novelty network like ESPN?
ESPN leans on star power and reputation.
Ours takes a different approach by weighing total impact across both ends of the floor. This list is built on four things: scoring efficiency, defense, playmaking, rebounding, and how each player impacts winning possessions.
The result is a list where some big names drop, some underrated players rise, and debates like where to place Angel Reese look very different when you focus on performance instead of narrative.

Where This List Differs From ESPN
The biggest difference is how we value complete impact versus single-skill production.
Take Aliyah Boston. ESPN had her outside the top 10. In our rankings, she moves up because she affects every part of the game. She defends, scores efficiently, and creates offense for teammates.
That kind of balance wins games.
Now look at Angel Reese. ESPN left her out of the top 20 entirely. We did not. Reese is the best rebounder in the league, and that matters because it creates extra possessions.
That impact is real, and it belongs in our WNBA Top 20 Players 2026 list.
At the same time, rebounding alone does not control a game the way defense, playmaking and efficient scoring do. That is why she lands in the middle of our rankings instead of near the top.
Another example is Kelsey Mitchell. High scorers often get pushed up based on points alone. We still rank Mitchell highly, but only because she scores efficiently and holds up in other areas.
Volume without efficiency does not carry the same value here.
The Bottom Line
This WNBA Top 20 Players 2026 list separates players into three groups:
- Players who control both ends of the court
- Players who drive offense but have limitations
- Players who excel in one area but rely on team structure
That is the difference. Instead of ranking stars, we ranked impact.
